i took my wife shooting the other day and she loved the small .38 specials so i bought her a charter arms .38. i got a good deal on one at the gun show and she likes it but she wants different grips for it. i am having a hard time finding after market grips. anyone know who makes any?
 
Does your wifes have the 3 firrger rubber grip? They make a 2 finger, not sure with they still sell a small wood grip or not. You might search for the wood grips off older models. Houge does not produce them. I don't know of any customs.
 
I know Pachmayr use to make a pair of Compac grips for it. Charter Arms also use to make an oversized pair of wood grips for their .44 Special Bulldog. If both models used the same grip frame assembly, then these would also fit the Undercover. Maybe try looking on Gunbroker.com for them.

You can usually find grips for the Charter Arms revolvers on eBay, often quite cheap. I picked up a pair of comfortable Sile rubber grips for my CA for under $10 on eBay.

I don't know where you can find grips.
I got a nice set for the J frame at the show yesterday.
 
ANY Charter Arms revolver will accept any grip made for Charter Arms revolvers - from 1964 to today. Grip panels of varying sizes and configurations show up on the auction sites all the time. Pachmayr made/makes rubber grips and CA used to offer "factory" medallioned grips pre 2000. There are also laser equipped grip panels that will fit any CA revolver. The older CA Corp. offered a wide variety of wooden grip panels with or without checkering, etc. The only problem you may run into will be accessibility of speed loaders if you put one of the larger "Bulldog" style or "Target" style wooden grips on your 5 shooter.
 
You don't say what she doesn't like about the grip but if the factory grip is too large for her, she might like to take a look at the Barami Hip-Grip http://www.baramihipgrip.com/ I have on on my Charter 2000 Undercover .38 and it makes it highly concealable and comfortable IWB. Happy shooting!
