I've been searching on and off all day and I can't seem to find any (relatively) cheap FMJ practice bullets for .40 S&W target practice reloads.

If someone could steer me to a good source I'd appreciate it. If that source is in the Shenandoah Valley, Va then that would be even better. :D

Cheapest I know of is Zero bullets from Powder Valley. A little over $100 per K, and they're decent bullets.

I don't have anything against Berry's plated...But a plated bullet isn't a FMJ. More like a hard cast.

For FMJ, the previously mentioned Zero bullets at powder valley.

For hard cast bullets, I would look at mastercast or bulletworks. Both of these come in around $65/1000 versus 109 for Berry's. Mastercast also has FMJ for 103/1000 in 180 grain.

I believe Montana Gold Bullets are the best bargain on the market. The bullets are very accurae, a lot of top shooters use them, and the factory people are great to work with.

Their prices include shipping, or at least they used to, so check that. Their 155 FMJ are $120/m or $288/3m, better prices if you order more.

180 FMJ are $124/m, while the complete or total metal jacket 180 CMJ are $129/m

i dont know for range practice and just messing around. i would use hard lead cast. you can get so much more for you money. the peice of paper your shooting at wont know the difference

I use Montana Gold FMJ for my main supply. I just paid $119 +$5 shipping for 1000 .40/10mm FMJ bullets. They threw in 10 TMJ and 10 JHP free as well. And it arrived in about 4 days, USPS Priority Mail.

I just tried Zero Bullets and got the notice that the online store is temporarily closed. :(

Powder Valley has 165gr Zero FMJ bullets in stock, price is $104/1000 or $192/2000. The 180gr FMJ bullets are $105/1000 and $195/2000.

In the cast bullets section they have MidState 155gr LSWC bullets at $62/1000.
