I'm looking into holsters for ruger gp100's. I want one for a 6 inch barrel. The material doesnt matter but I dont want to spend too much and want something that I can just use my belt for. So I guess I'm looking for a normal strong side holster. Also I'm in Canada if that helps any. Thanks for any info.

I purchased a Bianchi #BH5 for my 6" GP-100. cheaperthandirt.com has them for $41. That's about the cheapest I could find for a leather holster.

newguy....i might have 1 that i m not using.do you want a "righty" or a "lefty"?send me nuff to cover postage and its yours.its an uncle mikes, nylon.belt slides through the side.drop me a "pm" if you want it.

Just received an accessories catalog from Ruger, they list leather holsters with their logo embossed. Only trouble is they are expensive. You can see them on their website.

I have two leather holsters for my gp100. One cost $8 and the other $4. They are used, but look like new. I got them in a used holster bin at the local gun store. Any holster for a 686 will also fit a gp. You might want to check your local gun outlets for such deals.

Do you have gun shows in Canada, or are they banned as an instrument of the devil?

If you have them, you may be able to get a good holster deal there. I've gotten superb holsters for good prices, and some looked as new.

The Cheaper Than Dirt deal sounds good, if $41 US isn't too high. I have a couple of Bianchi 5BH's, and they're excellent holsters, usually priced much higher. Maybe Bianchi has discontinued them, and these are remaining stock? I'm guessing that customs duty on a holster would be little or nothing. The postman didn't even bother to collect customs duty on a couple of knives that I ordered from Grohmann's in Nova Scotia, and I live in the USA. (For those who flunked geography, Nova Scotia is one of Canada's Maritime Provinces. Grohmann makes largely knives designed by the late Deane H. Russell, no relation to A.G. Russell in Arkansas.)

no problamos newguy.i have a 6" stainless gp100 also.when im out plinking for groundhogs with it,i carry it crossdraw in an uncle mikes nylon holster & a HKS speed loader in my pocket.you can spend anywhere from 10 bucks for a plain nylon holster up to a 100+ for a custom rig made from leather.the police sometimes turn in used leather, those are good buys usually..the leather is already broken in:D
