i reload, but i used to get my ammo from wal mart they had good prices, well better than most every where else.

i don't know if shooting lead ammo is a possibility for you, but i use to get great prices on ultramax ammo from sportsmansguide. i used to buy it 2-3k per buy.

For range ammo try these:

www.mastercast.net
www.precisioncartridge.com
www.qualityammo.com

For carry:

www.ammunitiontogo.com
www.sportsmansguide.com
http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/index.php?cPath=21_26

Once you get a stockpile of empty brass, mastercast is the best by far. When you send them your empties, you can buy 180gr cast FP's for $7.07/50. I have shot ~ 1000 of their cast .40's in both my keltec sub2k rifle and my CZ-40B! VERY accurate stuff!

My newest favorite all around (carry and range) ammo is the fiocchi 165gr JHP. ~$17/50 from ammunitiontogo

Just a quick update to my previous post. I suggested fiocchi 165gr JHP's as a nice range/cary combo. It looks like both sportsmanguide and ammunitiontogo are out of stock on it.

+1 I've been using their Blazer Brass for range ammo. Prices are better in all calibers than I can get through the Internet...At one time, with a dealer discount, it was cheaper for mailing it in; not anymore...WallyWorld until Blazer Brass doesn't do the job....:)

I've recently been trying some S&B (selier & belliot - sp?) for range ammo because it has always been nicely priced - haven't had any problems with 9mm or .40 - got it from ammunition to go - also I get blazer brass from walmart - for the price that's still hard to beat. I've put thousands of rounds of BB through several different types of pistols with great reliability.

Fiochii is cheap through Natchez. How is Fiochii ammo anyways, never shot any before. Blazer Brass is also cheap there.

Is it really less expensive to buy online and pay shipping rather than locally? I've always wondered that, but .40 isn't one of my calibers.

I'm curious about Fiocchi ammo as well. I've shot S&B with great success and would guess the Fiocchi to be a little hot, like the S&B. Is it also clean and accurate? Thanks for any help.

My local wally mart has the WWB packs for ~$32/100 including tax. I send my empty cases to www.mastercast.net for reloading with 180gr cast FP's for ~$16/100 including shipping. For me, mastercast is the way to go. I use their cast FP's in both my CZ40B and my sub2k rifle. It is VERY accurate, w/ little leading even after 200-300 round range sessions.

Thanks for the link. Looks like excellent ammo, especially for the price.

I just placed an order with Natchez, Sunday night for 1,000 rounds. It will be delivered tomorrow, Wednesday!! That's about 60 hours and they're about 800 miles away. Not many ammo dealers can match that service and prices were better than any others I found. Highly Recommend them.

Before I started reloading, I shot the 170 gr FMJ's in 40, Fiocchi is excellent ammo, its also loaded hot, but that doesn't bother me. Now this stuff is $370/case on sportsmansguide:barf:, I'm loading my own for $120/case.:neener:

$12.99/per 50, no tax. Shipping was low $20's. Natchez ships now, ammo to go has a back up of about a week, and lots of other sites are out of stock.

I really should have checked out Natchezss.com before I placed my order with ATG. A quick duplicate of my order shows Natchez saving me about 14%.

Ive only ordered from Natchez once and it was a great experience. Other than they were, and still are, out of Blazer Brass 9mm. A few other items on my list were out of stock then, but seem to be returning to inventory so I may be placing another order before too long.
