I went to a gun show over the week end and pick up this shotgun that I thought was neat. It's a Mag 7M1. Pump action, 5 round mag in the pistol grip. The mag looks like a realy fat Desert Eagle mag. It was made for the South Africa police and only imported from 1994-1996. It takes the mini 12g shells. I haven't shot it yet. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these guns and what they are like?

Nice find. :) ...unfortunately, ammo is going to be hard to locate.

Isn't that the same shotgun in the Leonardo DiCaprio "Romeo and Juliet?" The one referred in the lines "Fetch me my longsword, ho/ Thou shall not stir one foot to seek a foe," IIRC.

/movie geek moment

Interesting shotty. Not sure I could get my short sausage-fingers on the pistol grip, though.

How big is that grip?

The grip is very big, it bigger than a Desert Eagle grip and DE have fat grips. if you have small hands then it would be hard to get your hand around it. Aim or SOG has ammo for the gun. Here is a link about the shotgun that I found link about gun

The linked page says:
“Since the standard shotgun shells are too long to fit in the pistol grip, a shorter shells of only 60 mm (2 1/3 inch approx.) long are used.”

Do you think it could fire those 1 ½” long mini-shells Aquila makes? I’m guessing those would be cheaper and more readily available then 2 1/3” long shells.

I think I'd buy a Mec shotshell reloader (or even a Lee) and a shell trimmer/reformer and make my self some 'tactical' buck shot 8 pellet loads of 00 and some slug loads, all 2 1/3" inchs long! ;)

Here are some more pics. The small mag is out of my Kel Tec P11, just to show the size diffrence.

What do you mean, MA is the ever friendly gun state....oh oh..sorry I must be dreaming. The gun hasn't quite made it to MA yet, I have a small gun shop in CT and I'm trying to deside if I want to keep it for myself, I guess I'm going to have to test it out first.

Guys - ammo is easy to find for that. It was designed around the Aguila minishells (natchezss.com has them)
