didnt clinton go duck hunting for photo op while he was in office ?

killing for the sake of killing is not sporting. shoot skeet if you want to blast stuff out of the sky. eat what you kill. even trophy game can be eaten

Hunters Creed
1. Enjoy yourself, live it up, have fun!

2. Abide by all laws and regulations governing the states and provinces of our designated hunting area, living a code of ethics honorable to our sport.

3. Insist on and practice utmost safety rules.

4. Abide by the rules of fair chase, always giving the game the benefit of the doubt, never pursuing while restricted by topography, water, deep snow or constricted by limited fence.

5. Conduct ourselves with manners and consideration for all others, refusing to tolerate drugs and misuse of alcohol, both in the field and out.

6. Strive diligently at our sport, with the legal equipment of our choice, to maintain a proficiency and accuracy to optimize quick, humane kills.

7. Follow up on shots, persevering to eliminate the loss of any animal.

8. Responsibly utilize the products of the game we harvest, appreciating the God-given flesh, hide, bone, horn, and antler, with respect and dignity.

9. Share the wonderment of the outdoors with others, especially the young, in word and action, singing up members at every opportunity.

10. Go beyond the call of duty in policing the ranks of outdoorsmen and women, never accepting or allowing abhorrent, illegal or detrimental behavior from others.

11. Put more into the wild then we take out, assisting in habitat conservation and helping at every opportunity.

12. Pick up after inconsiderate people and keep the wild litter-free.

13. Be ultimately conscientious of the wildlife, and restrict our bag even more than the law demands when the animals need the help.

14. Stand strong and proud, with actions, letters, and phone calls in defiance of ignorant people, who wish to force their mistakes on society and wildlife, in detriment to all

The Ninnies complaining about this are driving SUVs to their MC Mansions that were built on the natural habitat of many woodland creatures.

How many Phesants do the MCNinnies release, and how many trees and Jackin the pulpits do they plant every year to replace the forests thay destroyed and the wild life upon whos former natural habitat they are now living?????

Oh and how many chickens and cows do the MCninnies eat every year????

My club releases a couple hundred phesants every year the hunters are told a couple of days afterward about the release, its estimated that about half the birds escape and help shore up the natural populations.

Tell me again the folks who complain, how many animals do they release to repopulate the native population they have destroyed????

Oh I forgot thats somone elses responsibility their job is to whine and complain.:barf:

***! leave the guy alone! he's barely alive as it is with his heart probs. poor schmuck has a Dr. by his side 24/7 just to get thru the day.

they should be wheeling him around in a wheelchair for the hunt so he doesn't drop dead.

Clinton came out to Montana to hunt on a private ranch not too far from here. The Secret Service tromped and drove all over planted fields of the neighboring ranches to set up surveilance equipment without permission and without paying for the damage to the crops.

:cuss:

Note: most of the "ranches" up here also raise wheat - they are both "farms" and "ranches"

pen raised pheasants still fly under avian mind control

they are not fish in a barrel

downing one takes a different skill set then tracking an arcing claybird

real birds can "hop up" an extra 4 feet of altitude when you miss

Mr Cheney seems like a proficient shotgunner with 70 out of 500 released for his party

Live pigeon matches used to be held in this country.
I know, I used to load them in the traps and bring the dead ones back. What better job for a 10 year old? :)

Little wonder why the Red Man fought so hard to keep his hunting grounds.

Birds all want to die in a meaningful way!

Of couse they do. If you were a bird, which way would be more meaningful for you?

[ ] Eaten by a coyote

[ ] Head chopped off by minimum wage worker in slaughterhouse

[ ] Shot by Vice President of the US of A on a canned hunt

ElToro:

I like that "Hunter's Creed."

My Grandfather was an avid sportsman, to the point of carving his own bows, arrows, and making his own fishing poles. (I have an example of one of his home-made fly rods on my wall...it's purty!) He used to sling his .22 rifle over is shoulder, five rounds in the magazine, and set out for a fine afternoon's walk. He often came back with five squirrels. Sometimes six. If he only came back with three, then he still had two rounds left in the rifle...

He instilled in my Dad his idea of what it meant to be a sportsman. There's a big difference between hunting and just killing.

A friend went on a "ranch hunt" once. That's where you sit in a nice shooting station, somewhere in the neighborhood of fifty to a hundred yards away from a set feeding station. When you're set, a guy dumps a load of feed in the trough, and rings a bell. Your trophy comes trotting up to eat and you shoot it. Not my idea of "sporting".

I do understand that without hunting programs, and the fees and programs they provide, there would soon be extremely limited game left... But I don't think nine rich guys shooting 400-some-odd birds, at a set distance, at a set time and place qualifies as "sport".

With great liberties, froom "My cousin Vinnie:"

"Imagine you're a cute little deer... all alone in the nice forest. You see a little brook. You bend down to take a nice drink of the cool, clear water, with your little deer lips... and BAM! Some guy blows your f***ing brains out! Now I ask you... If you were that deer, would you give a f*** what kind of pants the sonuva bitch who shot you was wearing?"

We have some game farms in Minnesota and South Dakota that are pretty fancy. I have never and probably would never go just because it is sometimes too easy, and some places to expensive. You are still hunting, but at a few places the birds are almost domesticated. Others you would not notice any difference between hunting their, and in the wild.

I've never been on one of these things but I was just wonderin what they do with all those birds. I mean over 400 birds that's a lot of tastey meat to just leave out there. Do they collect it and distribute it to anyone who wants it or what? Like my girl friend's dad went on a hunt in africa and the water bufalo i think it was could be wrong though, eitherway a big animal that he took down he kept the trophy and some meat and they loaded the rest on a truck and took it to a local village for them to eat, is that what's kinda happenin here or do they just leave em for the coyotes and buzzards?

Just because you don't think that something is sporting for you, doesn't mean that someone else shouldn't do it.

He paid for the "shoot" or whatever you want to call it. They are just birds, raised by someone as property. What reason does anyone have to complain about what someone does with their property, as long as undue cruelty is not involved?

See below ... :p

I'd be willing to bet every one of those birds was properly prepared afterwards. It would indeed be an outrage if they were shot and left to rot, but I doubt that's what happened.
It is an amazing thing to hear someone talk about the "cruelty" of hunting, but they somehow think slaughterhouses are humane?
