A chest rig is the equivalent of a holster and belt. Prices are generally listed accordingly.Am considering a chest rig for my RIA 1911, open carry. Saw the prices and just about choked........ I don't think I've ever bought a holster that was over $50. Anyone have any ideas on less expensive ones?
I didn't know they were called Tanker holsters. Thanks that opens up my search quite a bit. What kind of chest holster are you thinking?
eBay has a bunch of GI "Tanker" type copies under your price range.
I have a number of the El Paso Saddlery Tankers, and while they are about double and a bit of what you want to spend, they are well made and I think worth the extra bucks.
I have one of the cheaper Tanker copies and the difference is pretty obvious. I also have one of the original GI issue Tankers, and its about even with El Paso's holster.
Not what I had in mind besides I already bought what I wanted, see the post above yours.I'm not aware of anything anywhere near $50.
But this is what I use when I want to chest carry and keep it on the down low and not draw attention. I've carried various guns while hiking and doing other outdoors stuff in one of these for a few years now and no one suspected I was carrying. If you watch the video and carry use it the way they suggest it is very fast to deploy.

Glad someone bumped this thread when I was looking. I've thought about a subtle chest pack like this for a long time. Thought I might have to make one myself.I'm not aware of anything anywhere near $50.
