October 26, 2003 — A Chicago police officer shot and wounded a man trying to grab his gun.
Investigators say five young men drove into the Little Village Discount parking lot, going the wrong way down a one-way street. The off duty officer working security at the mall approached the car and an argument followed.

The car then left the parking lot around 11:00 a.m. But returned later. Police say the five approached the off duty officer and one of them went for his gun. The officer fired his gun striking one man in the stomach.

Three suspects fled the scene and two were taken into custody.

Sounds like one lucky cop!

Now why would an off duty officer in Chicago even need to have a gun. :uhoh:
Everyone knows that concealable guns are illegal for regular people to own in Chicago. :scrutiny:
These poor, misunderstood, innocent youths were probably traumatized by the mere sight of such a deadly device. :what:
After all, they were probably just lost and couldn't find their way to the revival meeting as evidenced by their driving down the wrong way street.
It's a good thing that most of them escaped to safety.

Yeah. Right!
