So I was looking at the Chicago Tribune to see what they had to say after the ruling came out today, and I found this little gem. The poll is asking what replacement laws the readers would like to see. The question actually reads:
They note that if you would select "none of the above" to leave that in the comments section. I think there could be two reasons for that: 1) none of the above will be not be an option for the city of Chicago (in reality) or 2) well, you know the second reason...

    The choices are:
To keep handgun ammo behind the counter
    One handgun purchase per month
Shops and dealers must report each firearm received so the gov't can tell whether the gun is stolen
Only face to face gun sales
Illegal to shoot weapons inside the city
No ammo for people convicted of gun crimes
No big clips for those weapons
No assault weapons or heavy-caliber weapons
Keep records of identifying info on the buyer and ammunition sold

One thing that I am liking is that the ones that I would most ardently oppose are not getting much support from people that have voted - such as that 14.2% of respondents support a one handgun a month law, and 8.9% support "no big clips for those weapons".

Sadly, a fair amount of people support some of the other crap as well, but I can't say that surprises me.

I am sure the Chicago establishment will figure out a way to effectively continue the handgun ban. A load of paper work, a stiff license fee, etc. After all, that kind of thing worked for a while to keep the same people from exercising the right to vote. They called it "literacy testing" and a "poll tax."

The white and Uncle Tom power establishment doesn't want blacks to have guns, even honest, decent citizens, and they will make sure any way they can that those gun bans continue in one form or another.

I don't have a big problem with "keep handgun ammo behind the counter."

Am I the only one who noticed that the numbers don't add up to 100%???

DOH! I didn't even think about saving the image. Thanks for posting that Onward Allusion.

I don't think the numbers will add up to 100% - it isn't a yes/no question, and people can choose to vote on 1, or up to 5 if they want to.

Basically, it is saying that of the people that responded, X% chose A, Y% chose B etc etc.

I have no problem with the "No ammo for people convicted of gang crimes" and "No big clips" options since gangbangers commit most of the gun crimes today and I use magazines and not clips. :neener:

If it's limited to one handgun per month, do the people who have lived there during the unconstitutional ban get coupons for the purchases they've been denied so they can 'catch up'? :0

Some of the comments are unbelievable! Wild west shootouts in the street as a result of the ruling? I haven't seen wild west showdowns in my city where ccw and open carry are legal.
