Did anyone catch the WGN News at Nine broadcast this evening?

Jesse Jackson was a guest and was given the opportunity to comment on the recent "gun violence" across the country. I think he tried to place the blame entirely on the lapse of the AWB. I don't think he said one thing that was true.

I was pretty animated by the time he was finishing talking and I missed hearing what he said exactly when he quoted some statistics about deaths. I am hoping someone else watched this broadcast or will be able to catch the re-broadcast this evening on CLTV (I think it plays at 11 pm local time). I really would like to know the figures he qouted.

Didn't see it, had just gotten back from buying my first gun! I change the channel when he comes on anyway.

Jesse threads always get shut down because Jesse just can't stop babbling about things and he makes others babble because even imagining what he actually might have said on WGN is almost always better than what he actually said because he goes over-the-top with such regularity where logic and facts and evidence are concerned that actually going to the WGN site and searching yields little.

I must be going deaf or he had a mouthful of marbles. I caught the re-broadcast and he was babbling about Uzi's and AK47's being used to shoot at airplanes. I have no idea how he made the Herculean jump from the shootings this week to that but he managed to do it. It was almost as big a leap as the anchorwoman making the jump from the Democratic primaries (the original point of him being in studio) to gun control in one sentence but she pitched Jesse the ball and he ran with it.

I still couldn't put together all the stats he quoted so I will not even try ... he made so little sense. I see what you mean about Jesse threads getting closed.

I'll take your word for it and not even look--thanks for affirming what I knew to be the case.

Jesse has a certain 'gone to political Valhalla' aura that affords him unique and abiding rights with the media--especially in Chicago. No one must listen, but he *IS* allowed to talk without suffering debate.

He fights his eternal symbolic battle by day and retires to his mead hall every night. The best idea is mostly to let him be.
