Does anyone have any information or knowledge about this program or the Marshall Legacy Institute which sponsors it? Is it a legitimate program or does it have any other aims?

They are planning a program at my youngest son's school and I am trying to figure out if I should support it or not. Their objective seems good on the surface but I prefer to know more about the people who are organizing this before I make a decision.

Thanks.

So long as their effort is directed toward discovering and removing "left-over" land mines the program might be good. But look out for the ones that have an agenda to outlaw land mines. While this might seem to be a good thing, the truth is that like gun control - only the good guys follow the rules. :uhoh:

Looks to me like they've had great success, very great in fact, getting school children to donate 25 cents each to fund the training and deployment of mine-sniffing dogs around the world.

1. I'll bet that it's pretty darn rough on the dogs.

2. I wonder how much a "supertrack" would cost? Something with a couplea layers of some nice big plates for treads, etc., about the size of one of those things that they use in the monster quarries. Drive the thing across the field, and it's cleaned _and_ plowed...
