Just curious, what's a Chinese C96 in 9mm worth?

Its in excellent condition, no rust or pitting, bluing is nearly 100% and to the best of my knowledge all the number I could find appeared to match . The mag drops out which surprised me, I thought all C96's used stripper clips, I think its only a ten round mag because it flush with the trigger guard. It looks just like this one only with a shorter mag....

Apparently it was owned by a gun smith who works at the shop where its being sold. He's asking $735 for it but they said they would go $700 if I was willing to take it home today. I had to pass because I don't have that much money right now and I have no idea what these guns are worth or even if they are any good. I've always liked the Broomhandel Mauser and wanted to own one but they are so expensive.

If the gun is worth picking up then I'll go back and put some money down on it but I don't want to make a costly mistake. Are there good Chinese C96's and bad ones and if so what do you look for to determine a good one from a bad one?

Any suggestions?

The best ones will be made by Mauser and then imported into China.
Does this have a Mauser banner on it? Is there any writing other than the Chinese? How is the fit and finish?

If it's made in China and has only average fit and finish, then $700 is too much.

If it's German made then $700 would be a good deal.
