I recently bought 4 Officers .45acp 7rd Blue Mag w/Pad New Chip McCormick from CDNNsports and I have come to find out that they don't fit my Kimber Custom II...They seat in the mag well properly, but they are about a half inch (width of one bullet) to short. I cannot chamber a round because when I cycle the slide the round does not even come in contact with the slide, and the round it just passed over. I thought that these magazine were going to be the size of the mag that came with my Kimber, but I guess they're made for a smaller gun? Should I order the 8 round mags instead so that they will fit my gun? Sorry this is my first handgun and I don't know much about this subject. Thanks for the help!

Chip McCormick mags are are good mags, but you need mags for the standard size gun. I like the 8 round mags, but some experts claim the 7 round mags are more reliable. Never had any problems with either myself

So where would I go about getting the standard sized 7rd mags for my 1911? The ones I ordered hold 7, but are still to short.

http://www.cdnninvestments.com/co19458rdstw.html Here's what you need. They also have blued ones. http://www.cdnninvestments.com/198rdtamawbl.html See if you can send the ones you have back. By the way an officers 1911 has a shorter grip and slide. Here's a colt officer:
