What is ( or was ) out there that is a 3" double action three inch revolver chambered for .45 Colt? IIRC, S&W did a scandium .45LC, but I'm interested in cold steel thank you!

Too bad my employers firewall blocks almost all sites on the net cuz I think Clements did a GP100 conversion to either .44spl or .45LC . . . . . I don't recall.

Your input is appreciated!

S&W did a run of M625's with three-inch barrels in .45 Colt for Lew Horton. I believe they ran one hundred of them. I picked one up when I got the M610-2 in the same configuration.

The nice thing about the Ruger Alaskan is that you can buy or load essentially any pressure/velocity level ammo you want, from cowboy .45 LC loads to full-house (ouch!) .454 Casull loads. I think hot, heavy cast .45 +P loads would be just the ticket, 280-330 gr. at around 1200 fps. Makes a great .45 Colt revolver.

Get this New Service or a Redhawk or a used Dan Wesson and cut em down. Or get a Smith Model 25 MG and settle on a 4" bbl.

Taurus makes their stainless steel Tracker in a 5-shot/.45 Colt/4 inch ported barrel version. One of these days when I happen to find one that last inch of barrel with the ports is going to disappear, and the front sight relocated where it should be. :D

I think the 625's made for Lew Horton was in the 250 range of production. As I remember they made 250 3 inch 625's in 45 ACP, 250 3 inch 625's in 45 Colt, 250 629's in .44, and 250 610's in 10mm. At one time in my life I owned one of each, I think I still have the 45 Colt but don't quote me on that. I know I have a 45 Colt S&W just can't remember if it is a 3 inch or a Mountain Gun. :uhoh:
