Went by a local gun store "just to look around".

Anyway, they had had some really interesting revolvers in the used gun display. I spied a S&W Model 65 3" (been looking for one of these FOREVER), a Ruger Speed Six 2.75" BICENTENNIAL model (very cool!), and a S&W 13-1 4" square-butt revolver that was marked "Longview Police" (Longview, WA) on the backstrap.

All three of these weapons were in awesome shape and had excellent lockup. The 65 wasn't pinned and recessed, but oh well. Both of the Smiths wore Pachmayr grippers, and the Ruger Speed Six had original wood stocks. Seriously, all of these guns looked like they had just come out of a time capsule. The only noticeable wear on any of them was on the 13-1 which had a tiny bit of holster wear at the muzzle.

I couldn't make up my mind on which one to get, so I placed them all on layaway. I really dislike telling those "one that got away" stories.

Anyway, I will post pics when I get them. In the meantime, here's a pic of a little Colt Cobra that I got off layaway a couple days ago. The vintage Tyler T-grip is something that I found on an old Taurus in an LGS display case and snagged for 25 bucks when I saw that it was for a Colt D-Frame. The T-grip actually has the company logo, etc printed on it (unlike the new ones), but isn't visible in the pic.

I would have been happy just to find one of those fine revolvers at a local gun store! Kudos on putting all three on layaway and for the Cobra you recently picked up.

Now go buy a lottery ticket because you're on some kind of lucky streak!
