Its that time of year and we need to start thinking about gifts for our fellow gun nut friends and family.

I would like to hear some suggestions for Christmas gifts for folks such as yourselves, in particular items that are New and improved (recently put on the market).

anything goes....guns, ammo, knives, hunting/camping/fishing gear, gun cleaning supplies, accessories, range accessories, targets.....

Thanks

Well, most of my family gives me money for Christmas (I'm really tough to shop for) and I'll be buying as many Glock 33 round mags as I can get my hands on. Not only are they functional, but if the upcoming elections turn out badly they're a good investment in the face of another AWB-type situation.

Things like that are what I'd personally want, if I were asking for gunny-type stuff. Things like mags, AR-lowers, parts kits, etc that I can either build and use, or store away for a "rainy day" depending on what I want to do with them.

kingpin, can I be on your Christmas list?

Ammo ammo ammo.

Magazines are a plus.

Cant have too much CLP or Kroil

AR lowers/parts kits like kingpin said...I'd be tickled pink of one of my relatives handed me a box with some 30 rd mags as well.:D

I love getting ammo too.

I'm not sure how many company's do it, but giftcards are nice as well...It's just a way too put a little more thought into a gift without being too specific.

I've got my two front teeth...so, I'd like a Stag Arms AR rifle...left hand. Told my wife, but the words just bounced right off. :D

Mark.

CCW classes, range memberships, guided hunting tours, etc.

Give them something to encourage shooting sports. Make a family event of going to the range to try out new presents. Good memories like that will last a lifetime.

Mot - "fraid not, my good man. I have enough on my hands as is, getting a bunch of toys for my new nephew! And the things I listed are the things I wanna get, not what I can afford for anyone else, lol.

This may be a girl type thing, although I personally like cleaning my gun, I would love a gift, birthday, Christmas, etc, of having my gun cleaned for me for a whole year. Like I said, it might be a girl thing. Even if they don't use the gun very much, it still has to be clean.

Speaking of having your gun cleaned...I personally like cleaning my own guns, but I would love a nice gun cleaning kit/setup if I didn't have a nice one...I actually got one from my girlfriends mom a couple christmas's and was pleasantly surprised(because I didn't ask for it).

I'm probably going to get my dad a set of Alumagrips for his 1911, as well as some magazines and other stuff. Alumagrips are nice, unique, and reasonably priced, so that makes them a fairly good gift in my opinion. I suppose that's assuming that the person has a 1911 or Hi-Power...

Personally, I don't like giving or receiving ammo as a gift. I prefer to give permanent items, not consumables. I guess it's because a couple years from now the ammo will be gone, but they'll still have the magazines, grips, holsters, scopes, or guns or whatever you gave them.

The possibilities are endless. Here is a sample of stuff you can get other than a rifle or a handgun:

PD Ammo - Some expensive hollow-points
New wood handgun grips (1911 or Sig)
Conceal-carry Leather Jacket (i.e. Sig Tac)
Nice Range Bag (i.e. Uncle Mike's, Midway USA, Maxpedition, etc.)
Rifle or Handgun carrying case
Nice Holster
Subscription to American Handgunner
A Lasermax green laser sight
A paid trip to a class at Gunsite or Thunder Ranch

Engraved prints of presidents. Extra large.
Things are getting too "fine-tuned" in the gun department for someone else to know what would work for me.

Could I buy shoes for her and get it right?

Bruce
