Broke out the chronograph at the range today, and tested two of my .357 Magnum loads against some Winchester (white Box) 125 Gr. JSP's
I averaged out 6 rounds from each batch, the Winchester's were the hotter/faster load, but also showed a wider range of vaeied speeds proving to me that my reloads are more consistent than factory loads.
All loads fired from my 6" S&W 686......
Whinchester 125 Gr. JSP = 1450 fps
7.9 Grs. of Herco / 150 Gr. LSWC = 1284 fps
13.5 Grs. of 2400 / 150 Gr. LSWC = 1279 fps
I wish I knew they were going to bring out this device, or I would have brought and tested my .38 Spl's (4.1 Grs. of Hi Skor-700-X / 158 Gr. RNFP) against some factory Rem-UMC, and also my .38 Wadcutter target loads (2.8 Grs. of Bullseye / 148 Gr. LWC)
This was the first time I got the oppertunity to test any of my reloads with a chrono, and it was both fun and interesting to actually see how fast they move.
