Looking for information on the serial # for the Browning Citori my # is XXXXXNYS43. I know the NY is the year 92 and the 43 is for 12 gauge but I can't find the information on the S. This is an O/U with vent rib ported barrels, gold trigger and gold birds on the reciever and on the bottom of the trigger guard and a gold dog on the bottom of the receiver. It has never been fired and is in a leather suit case. Any idea of the value?

It doesn't sound like a Grade VI Lightning or quite like a Grade VII. Pictures would help. (Even if they don't help I'd like to see them.)

I can try looking it up when I get home to my books in 2 or 3 hours if it hasn't been identified by then.

Looking at the serial number chart on the Browning site, the 43 appears to be a trap gun. But no S is listed. Hmm.

T43=12 ga. 2 3/4" Gr.1 Special Trap
U43=12 ga. 2 3/4" Gr.3 Special Trap
V43=12 ga. 2 3/4" Golden Clays Special Trap (adj comb)

It looks exactly like the grade IV skeet except it has a 32 " barrel vr also there are four ,hoke tubbes and 2 browning gauger and tool to put in the chokes I will get pictures posted shortly thans for all of the responses

I got an offer for 2100.00 for this shotgun, my error on my last post is it looks like the grade VI no IV except it has a 32 inch barrel serial # states 1992 is the year but the gold inlay doesn't show up until 1993 according to the blue book.
I have a call into Browning with the serial # haven't received a response. Any thoughts on the $2100 offer.

A new Grade VII Citori lists for $5559.95.

I was going to say I'd be tempted to post it for sale on trapshooters.com or shotgunworld for $3000, BUT...

A look at my 2-year-old Blue Book (31st Ed.) shows a top price of $1995 for a Grade VI Trap. Last MSRP was $2555. A Grade III Trap is only $100 less. Strange.

Maybe that offer is fair and reasonable.

Citori

I read something similar so that was why I'm not sure. If it was made in 1993 in according to the blue book it would be 2500.00 to 3000.00 I think I'll go with the 2100.00 and call it a day. I've been researching this for too long.
Thanks for all of the help.
