I set this up so we can offset the 500 pound fine the 19 year old Ms Burleigh was ordered to pay for kicking her supposedly unconscious attacker in the head.

Folks, we're not going to debate whether she should or should not have been fined, how much or if she should have even been charged and prosecuted while her assailant got off "scott free". Debating an issue is for AD or the other forums.

That discussion is going on over in S&T and makes for good background info for those who aren't familiar with the case.

If you want to donate to help defray her fine, do. If you don't, don't.

I am going to play devil's advocate or maybe the devil rather. England is something we here in the U.S. hold up as a failure of gun control. And to be quite frank, the whole county exploding in violence and bloody turmoil would only better help us pro-2nd amendment folks because we could point to this failure and better argue our point.

I've brought folks into the 2nd-Amendment fold by pointing out the failures of the antis, especially England. England is a prime example of paternalism and progressive liberalism run amok, disarming lawful gun owners, criminalizing even the most minor self-defense methods and acts, and empowering criminals that are murderers, rapists, and drug dealers.

So if this young lady should have to pay a fine, I'd rather raise funds for her to flee England, come here, get her citizenship, get herself a gun or two, and her concealed weapons permit, than waste money on paying a justice system that is ineffective and part of the crime problem.

Edited-mayhaps one day I'll have the blessing of wealth to help such folks immigrate here, get good jobs, get their concealed weapons permits, and hold them up as icons of liberty. Wouldn't that be a finger in the antis' eyes.

She has to pay regardless...any money you give her before she has paid the 500gbp is just replacing her expenses. Whether or not it is ostensibly for migration, etc.
