Question: what are the rules, regs, and whatevers about transporting a suppressor? intrastate? interstate?
(i.e. from MD to the NRA range in VA)
when moving permanently to another class III friendly state?
etc.

I know there are lots of regs abour full autos, but suppressors?
thanks again,

should be the same ATF form as an MG.

as long as they are legal in the new location, it's basically a change of address.

(as far as i know)

think the form is a something.5?

A form 5320-20 is required for the temporary interstate transport of MGs, DDs, SBRs and SBSs. Suppressors do not require prior ATF approval.

Hmmm.... a rare bit of "we don't need to know" from the overse'ers?

I'll have to investigate...

How about AOWs? permanent relocation?

IIRC, both only need initial registration, not updates on location.

Suppressors and AOWs do NOT require permission from ATF before taking them across state lines. If you move, whether staying in the state or leaving it, you have to update the NFA records with your new address.

Temporary movement of a MG across state lines has NO relationship with Interstate Commerce, so how is it the tax collectors have any say-so in the matter?

(just a cranky question)
