Classic Turret (help)

Am setting up my Lee Classic turret press and I can't for the life of me get the saftey primer to work, I have tried everything, will not feed a primer half the time, when it does it won't drop it in the cup, 95% end up on the floor if I don't catch them, I am not new to reloading.
I tried different heights by using washers as spacers, I think the plastic casting is screwed up somehow, to me it is a P.O.S.

I had problems with the safety prime system on mine, and the cause was the poor assembly of the feed chute from the tray to the dispenser. Snapping the two halves completely together tightened up feeding and eliminated problems with dropping and flipping primers.
 
Mine works fine 98% of the time, meaning out of 100 primers, I drop about 2 on the floor:p
I don't have any brilliant insights to help you out, because I just assembled mine according to the directions, and it works.
Other than that, at least you know it's possible to get her working....
 
I occasionally have difficulty getting the last primer out of the tray to feed properly, but other than that it has been flawless since I first assembled it over two years ago.
 
Lee is going to have to do one hell of a lot better on thier products then this, one should not have to dink around like this to get some thing to work, very disgusted!!!

Thanks for the link, I won't let this beat me, but it just chaps my butt.
Back in the 60's when i started reloading I made some auto primer feeds out of ball point pens and they worked one hell of a lot better then this junk.

Lets see if I can explain this without making it more confusing. I hold the lever with the cup with my left hand palm up while I click the primer in with the other piece, if a primer misses it ends up in my hand. Instead of pushing the trigger piece with my thumb I put my thumb on one side and my index finger on the other so I have a good grip on the thing. It doesn't seem to take any longer than the other way because I am still loading 200 per hour. The good thing about it is that I only have a couple of primers every thousand mess up. It has been very reliable for me.

Thanks for the tip, I'm open to anything.
But I did switch from Winchester primers to CCI and they seem to work better, I would say I'm hitting about 60% of the time now.
Lee should have a school on the learning curve to say the least!
This is 2008 isn't it????
 
I know what you are saying. It's a real let down to buy a press and have to tinker with it. I don't have experience with other presses but from talking to friends there will be a learning curve no matter what brand. I'm sure once you get the bugs worked out you will be happy with the press. Gets some washers and use them to raise the safety prime to the correct hiegth. I use the supplied one with 45 acp, 2 extra with 9mm, and 4 extra with 38/357. With the spacers, mine works 100%. It's a Lee product, so tinkering is needed.
