I like and have been shooting Trail Boss in .357 Mand .41M with coated and plated bullets. But...I am about out and see none available right now. I do have an 8 lb jug of Clays use for 12 gauge and I see a lot of pistol loads for it. Any body care to offer any advise before I load some up and try it. I load single stage and think I am okay with the single charge per round thing.

I like Clays with lead projectiles. I've used it for years. Very clean, if that's important to you, I know it is to some.

No special caveats I can think of. It's a very fast powder, so charge weights will be low.

I even use it in gallery loads for .30-30 round ball, and fun/novelty loads like that.

Like said, it's a very fast powder so take care when loading with it. I have used it in the .38 Special and 45 Auto but it didn't do anything that W231 couldn't do just as well.

I use several fast propellants for lead handgun loading with lead bullets all seem to produce good accurate loads after workup. When I started years ago I tried to get a slower propellant, one that would fill the case more to stop double charges. These days I see the economy in using small charges and have developed safe practices that so far, have kept me safe. Figure out a procedure to stop or check for double, tripple charges with fast propellants and stick to it.
