Clean your carry gun! and change out your ammo.

I am still wondering why bullets would work themselves out of a case, especially for the bottom two rounds in a magazine. Maybe the round position was happenstance. Could it have been from repeated bouncing or up and down motion?

I was told by Army Logistics types that ammunition in tracked vehicles "gets unhappy" and that they make an effort to replace old in vehicle ammunition with new. It has been decades since I was in a M113, I recall the ride was rough, and it was noisy as all heck.

Worked with a guy who owned a hard tail Harley back in the 1950's. If he did not wear his kidney belt, his urine turned pink! I suppose if he carried ammunition, the bullets might have worked themselves out of the case.

.....If you can still see grinding markings in the breech face it could probably use some wet sanding to smooth it out.....

I'm going to update this. You don't need to sand out all of the grinding marks on the breechface. The law of diminishing returns comes into play rather quickly. Just sanding down a little bit and polishing the tops of the peaks formed by the grinding process will significantly reduce friction and reduce the possibility of a return to battery malfunction. Likewise, keeping the breechface clean and free of gunpowder residue also reduces the chance of a return to battery malfunction.

Carry Gun Check!!!

Just re-oiled the Carry LC9 and changed out the Ammo with fresh pills. Dump the old ammo into “Range Practice” Ziplock bag. FEELS GOOD MAN! like changing out your contacts lens!

anybody else this week?

I dunno, my 642 and critical defense stays crunchy even in milk.

Kept the same rounds loaded forever. Dumped out at the range. Fire range ammo. Clean. Reload.

Same speed strip . Carried summer winter fall spring etc.

Annual test, everything fires, even though the nickle cases look worn and the bullets aren't shiny anymore.

Every now and then I take my 442 out of my pocket and blow the dust bunnies out of it and put it back in my pocket.
