I am still wondering why bullets would work themselves out of a case, especially for the bottom two rounds in a magazine. Maybe the round position was happenstance. Could it have been from repeated bouncing or up and down motion?
I was told by Army Logistics types that ammunition in tracked vehicles "gets unhappy" and that they make an effort to replace old in vehicle ammunition with new. It has been decades since I was in a M113, I recall the ride was rough, and it was noisy as all heck.
Worked with a guy who owned a hard tail Harley back in the 1950's. If he did not wear his kidney belt, his urine turned pink! I suppose if he carried ammunition, the bullets might have worked themselves out of the case.
