Apparently after cleaning my rifle i left some hand print marks from either gun oil or cleaner (hopps) day after or so I went out hunting and ended up getting the stock dirty from the mud and tracking.

i used a tooth brush to scrub alot of it off, it looks better than when i took this pic, but there is still visable oily residue on the stock.

Im looking to private trade/sell the gun however not with this blemish.

Any ideas?

I scrubbed it with toothbrush and water, then same but with hand/dish soap.

Remove action and metal from stock.
Use house cleaners (409 ect) and a green scrubby pad.
If not enough,,, use very fine steel wool.
Finish stock with Lemon Pledge furniture spray and rub down with a rag...

A good scrub with hot water and soap. Then wipe it down with Ballistol, it does a very good job on synthetics. I use it on polymer frame pistols when they get a scratch or other blems.

I normally use 91% iso, or just dawn and hot water to clean my stocks. If the dawn dosent get crud off most likely youve embeded it. The ISO WILL usually get stuff off, but on a couple stocks it etched the surface.

That blemish won't make $.05 difference in the price you'd get. Don't worry about it.

If it were on a nice walnut stock, yes. On plastic, none at all.

try warming it with a hair dryer, and using an alcohol prep pad (like they use just before giving you a shot, or drawing blood). you can buy a box of them at wally world for a dollar. and they have many uses. if it is oil, that should bring it out. just be careful not to get the stock hot. warm should do the trick. if it is hoppes, ??????? the other thing that comes to mind is the synthetic stock gun scrubber. it is about $12.00 for a can of it, but it is not supposed to harm synthetics. i use it on my plastic pistols, SPARINGLY! (because of the price)

I have used fine sandpaper on synthetic stocks from Remington. Test first on your Weatherby.

I wipe all my synthetic`s down with Naphtha, let it dry & put on a little Lucas gun oil..........
