When the cleaning rod hits the crown (what is the crown?), what exactly happens that is bad? How would I prevent this from happening?
I clean my AK and all other guns starting with the muzzle side. Is this improper procedure? To date, I have a Winchester Model 70 Pre-64, Romanian SAR-1, Glock 40, Winchester 74, Rem 870, stevens 12 gauge, H&R .22 revolver, and a Western Field Model 410.
By the way, I Use a rod made by Proshot that has 3 separate pieces which screw together if necessary. It is made of aluminum. The brushes are all phos. bronze bristle with a brass core.
