Dumb question but i like to be certain.....Cleaning barrels with things like Rem Oil or Breakfree CLP an Bronze Brushes in no way can damage a barrel or effect accuracy or can it?? Thanks
I use a bronze brush on my barrels every time after I fire them. Bronze is softer than steel, so won't mess barrels up. The two products you mentioned are favorites, so I see no problem using them. Personally, from a half-century of habit, I use Hoppe's #9.
Yes, use a bronze brush. Just make sure you don't reverse directions in the middle of the barrel. It won't hurt the barrel but will bend or break the bristles on the brush.
This is primarily all we use on our range now. Its alcohol based and after you wipe it down and evaporation, you have a minimal film of lubricant left. Because it is alcohol based instead of petroleum based, in cold weather it does not make the action sluggish. You can't hardly get a weapon to rust with this on it. It is also a good cleaner.
