It seems like the threads on a standard arrow is 8/32 wich is the same as a 8/32 cleaning brush or jag....
anyways the rods i have for a pistol only goes to about 12 inches and i need one to go about 20 inches, i have fashioned a old carbon fiber arrow that is just about small enough to pass thru our 308 15 inch barrel. only quesion i have is, is this a good idea or should i just go buy a actual cleaning rod?
im a super cheap guy lol but i did a pass thru with a plain patch with a tip that has the slot to hold a patch, its not a jag. it seems to work but the rod has very little wiggle room, if i was to do cleaning and barrel break in should i go from chamber and out the barrel then remove the jag/brush or should i pull the jag/brush back thru?
how hard should it be to push a jag/brush thru a barrel? as for brushes they should reform to a barrel but a jag dosnt... for 308 do i just buy the jags and brushes labled for 30cal?
brass vs carbon fiber cleaning rods?
