Clip making Machines/M1 Garand

Gentlemen,
These two photo's give you some idea of how the Clips for the M1 Garand were made. Notice how much shine is on the Clips in the second Photo. If you have the time let me know what makes them that way.

Wow, that is neat. I always figured they where just make in a stamping press, but does it take that many steps that are shown in the first photo to make them? Thanks for sharing that.

Since the clips in photo #2 are just coming out of a quenching tank, they are wet with either oil or water (I would bet on oil) and that would certainly contribute to shine.

Yep, also haven't had their matte finish (parkerizing) applied yet.

The Clips are zinc plated, before they were Parkerized.
