I'm considering the J frame specific model for my 340PD EDC. I'm currently using a desantis clip grip in the appendix position. It works well. However I'd like a bit more length on the clip.

I the model I'm looking at is for J frames and attaches using the sideplate screw. What's the ride height as far as how low the grip sits? Thanks for any help.

Please don't do this. I wouldn't even consider carrying a cheap dull pocketknife with a clip let alone a loaded gun. I have seen so many guys lose gear that was clipped in their pocket. Radios, flashlights, key rings etc etc. Use a belt and a good holster. Besides securing your revolver by the sideplate screws is a really bad idea unless the screws are replaced with longer screws and loc tited. Those screws are fitted precisely to the gun. Putting a clip in there just gives them less thread engagement and they are pretty fine threads. Many years ago when I was young I had a IWB holster clipped to my belt and watched with horror as the gun holster worked it's way out and the gun crashed to the floor in a crowded store in a State where concealed carry was illegal. Everyone around me was looking at that gun on the floor. You never want to experience that, trust me. Don't do it. Clips are for kids...... I personally believe any gun should be firmly attached to a belt strong enough I can hook a winch to it and pick you up off the floor.

And that's before you even BEGIN talking about carrying a revolver without having the trigger protected by a holster. I think where/how to carry is almost entirely a personal choice, but carrying a handgun without covering the trigger is, IMHO, simply irresponsible.
