Good clip on IWB for J frame?

Currently I'm using a cheap Blackhawk clip on IWB for my 438. It's my first IWB and I'm satisfied with it, but I can tell it's integrity is not the best for extended use, the plastic clip looks like it's about to give. So I know there are tons of J frame fans, what do yall use or recommend for a good clip on?

Great question, and I've been on the same search. So far, the answer seems to be "Horsehide Del Fatti with offset clip ...but his lead time is over 18 months now..."

I understand the part about the offset clip: keep it over the trigger, not over the fattest part of a revolver, the cylinder, which most readily-available J-frame IWBs seem to do. Makes sense to me.

I have and like Crossbreed Supertucks and QuikClips for larger guns. Seems to me someone must make a quality J-Frame IWB with one metal clip, offset, that doesn't take a year-and-a-half to get.

To further muddy this up, I need one that will accommodate a 2-1/2" bbl, so an open muzzle-end is a "must-have" since no one seems to be making holsters specifically for the relatively-new 2-1/2"bbl S&W J-Frames yet.

High Noon has a bunch of models at a variety of price points, but I believe all use the same very sturdy steel clip.

I agree with JTQ. I have several Highnoon holsters and really like them. The bare asset or mr. softie are stocking items and ship quickly.

Alessi Deep Cover....nice...."talon" clip they use is plastic; but pretty rugged.

Galco makes a good IWB holster for the J frame. DeSantis has a bunch of nice J frame IWB holsters, I'm sure you will find one you like. I like the Summer Heat holster.

Clip attachments are not good at securing the holster with any aggressive action no matter the brand. We banned them for that reason. Those who say they have never seen it happen just haven't seen enough.

Go with dual snap straps for IWB.

Alright, thanks for all the suggestions, looks like I got more research to do. Do the ones with straps snap? or are the belt loops? and Who banned them, your Dept or ?

Probably a reasonable point, though my guess is the High Noon clip is as durable as a snap on attachment.

I have a Don Hume for my J-Frame, but I think I'm going to pick-up a Galco. I got one for another Pistol and I think it conceals much better. It probably doesn't make a difference but to me it does.

I just picked up a Galco on impulse last weekend, when I was getting out of my car the plastic clip broke on the Blackhawk, so I'll pry the rest of the plastic off to make it a pocket holster.

Not sure the exact model but this one is leather w/ a decent plastic clip that clips to pants and has a notch for under belt for a little more security/stability. It's alright but only my second IWB and it rides significantly lower than my previous, not sure I like it, is it common for only 2/3's the grip to stick out, kinda awkward drawing, but def. better concealment.

...and Blackhawk is considered a name brand. Just give the name brand Galco some time and vigorous action.

I have a minimal clip from Sideguard holsters. I am very pleased with it. I had him lower the position of the gun so that it rides just at the belt when I carry in the appendix position. I like the fact that the clip is offset so it makes the set up a little thinner. I am very pleased. I also have a Mr Softy from Highnoon for this as well as my 3913 and my 26. I find the one for the J frame a little high for my liking in appendix but super for 3-4 o clock.
