Hi folks,
I am thinking about doing another ar-15 build and I am considering trigger options. My experience is with several factory single stage battle triggers and the Chip McCormick drop in trigger.
I am considering the CMMG trigger. Does anyone here have any experience with the CMMG 2 stage trigger. I like the way it looks "in the window".

Also anyone have a good single stage trigger option (not too heavy/ no grit?)

(Just for kicks): My existing Armalite:

I have a Stag M3. I have a 3# pull with no creep. When I post this, the crowd slowly dissolves.
I'll post the link in a minute. If you take the hand grip off, the threaded hole goes all the way though to the upper. The hole is just under the trigger group platform. It is almost as simple as making a set screw to insert in the hole before re-installing the grip. Mine works greaaatt! I stopped at three pounds. You could drop it more with the set screw. I also did the 15 minute trigger job at the same time.
The interesting thing about the set screw is that it causes the hammer and sear to have a parallel interface. In the factory trigger, the trigger is actually pushing the hammer back farther before the break.
Here ya go!

I am kinda stayin away from the high dollar triggers ergo the 120 dollar CMMG

That RRA NM trigger has a lot of fans. I might have to try that one. How light?

JP Original Trigger $119.95
As light as 3 pounds
Though it does not include a hammer like the CMMG, but it will work with the stock trigger.

Not everything JP makes is super expensive, just most of it. The CMMG looks like a good trigger and depending on the weight would work just fine. I am just not a huge fan of 2 stage triggers. The RRA NM 2 stage trigger is nice. Can't go wrong with that one either.

I have a pair of RRA's 2 stage triggers which were tuned by WOP. While these triggers are very good triggers for High Power, I felt they were a ittle heavy. So I bought a Geissele 2 stage. I had to fit the safety per the instructions in the RRA NM lower I was using for my Krieger upper. The Geissele is by far one of the best , if not the best 2 stage triggers I have shot. The Geissele feels lighter than the RRA 2 stage but still makes weight.

The Rock River 2-stage National Match trigger is ~5lb pull with both stages combined. You can get them even lighter with the JP Reduced Power Springs. Customers report back ~3.5lb trigger pull after the spring install and no light primer strike issues. The JP springs work well in mil-spec triggers, RRA 2-stage, and other triggers. For the money, the Rock River is hard to beat and by far our most popular trigger. We sell the RRA by the dozen, and CMMG 2-stage every once in a while, for whatever that's worth.

Joebob is gtg. almost rediculous fast shipping and a great price. i look there first everytime i need something for my rifle. im still looking at the truck lol

I have been using ArmaLite tactical two stage triggers in my builds, $120 with the LPK. These have a extra spring on the disco with three different positions for a 1.5lb range of trigger pull in 1/2lb increments. ArmaLite has a tech sheet on tuning the tactical trigger to NM specs. These are based on the M14 trigger design as are the NM RRA triggers, the ArmaLite has a much beefier disco giving you a wider contact area.

I added the Chip McCormick drop in trigger group to my 16" match rifle. Love the pull, and function is perfect. It helps on long range shooting for me.
