Best Stock AR Trigger

What would you say is the best stock AR trigger? I have to say that the Rock River 2-stage is an amazing stock AR trigger. I am sure there are other high-end ARs that come with even better triggers, but compared to other rifles in the same price range (Bushmaster, Armalite, Colt, Stag, CMMG, PSA, etc.), I think Rock River takes the cake. What are your thoughts?

I agree Rock River is hard to beat without going high end.

The Anderson trigger I put in my Blackout lower is surprisingly crisp.

+1 on the Rock River 2-stage. I put one in my AR and it's like a different rifle. For about $100, it's hard to beat. I don't know if I'd use it on a HD/SD/Duty rifle, but mine is mostly for targets/varmints and it works great for that.

The factory issue two stage on my Armalite sure seems suited to shooting groups at paper. I like it, but I like good single stage triggers too.

Edit to add: Does the Rock River two stage trigger have the 3 position trigger spring to change pull weight like the ArmaLite two stage does?

I run one in my class gun. Definitely worth the $45 over stock triggers.

RRA is having a sale; 18% off everything they make, including their 2-stage triggers ... I bought 2 of the NM Varmint triggers for $62 each normally $120 each.

I've got several of the RRA 2-stage triggers ... however the stock trigger in my KAC (Stoner) SR-15 E3 Mod1 is quite a bit better.

The two stage DPMS trigger on my GII .308 (standard AR trigger group) is great.

Armalite NM trigger is better though, very smooth.

Yup. Armalite NM.

Nothing, however, compares to the Timney or Hyperfire 3G. CMCs aren't half bad either.

I know some guys like Geissele, but I think they're way overpriced for what you get, which is , IMO, no better than $100 cheaper Armalite NM trigger.

The ALG is just a better milspec trigger. If that's what you want, it's great.

I suppose I may have gotten a bad one, but I am very disappointed in the Timney trigger I bought for an AR. To much take up, which isn't even smooth, and the let off is far from crisp or predictable.

Quit buying mediocre guns then try to make them great ... it just costs you more money in the long run. If you want a great gun, bite the bullet and buy a great gun. It will come with a great trigger in it ... I know my Stoner SR-15 E3 did. On the other hand, my Sig 716 DMR had a 6.5 pound Geissele 2-stage in it ... it was smooth but I did pull it out and put a 3.5 pound RRA NM Varmint trigger in it. It cost me $130.

Over the last 5-6 years it seems like there has been a parts competition; who can spend the most to build a Frankengun ... kind of like bragging rights. Its funny because AR's built from assorted parts used to be looked down on ... then the marketing companies got in the game, and now its just stupid. Especially in the last 10 years, mostly due to the Internet, I've seen companies that bring premium dollar just because Marketing sheep herders brag them up and people jump on the wagon ... then in a year or two its some other company (or part) or that you have to have or the gun just isn't shootable!

There is no reason that Geissele triggers are as expensive as they are; other than they are in vogue right now. Are they good, yes are they "that good" no. I actually had a guy tell me I had to have a $350 Geissele Super Sabra in my Tavor to make it shootable ... Really? I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

Recently a guy I work with built a Spikes lower that he put together with POF 2-stage trigger, magpul stock and grip an upper with stainless F/F barrel ... yada yada yada ... and he has a parts gun he spent $1200 on. After a couple months he wanted something "new" so he took it to the gun show and after walking around for 2 days the best offer he got was $600 from another guy walking around ... dealers were offering him $500. It looks and shoots nice but he could have had a Colt, SiG, Armalite, Daniel Defense, FN ... something with a pedigree that would hold its value.
