C'mon Minne-sotans !!

I've emailed the honorable Governor Dayton 3 times in the last two weeks urging him to not veto what the peoples representatives have chosen to advance to him in hf 1467. I have not received a reply to any of my e-mails urging him to not handicap law abiding citizens by vetoing this bill.

The same dog and pony show that law enforcement used to voice their objection to the concealed carry bill is being trotted out again for this house file and it just doesn't hold water. There is available a body of evidence the antis can't argue with concerning concealed carry and the bloodthirsty citizens of Minnesota, they choose to ignore that evidence and instead dramatize what they "think" could happen if this bill becomes law.

One of the few problems legally armed citizens have had with law enforcement is that incident in one of the suburbs when that off duty undercover cop provoked a road rage incident with a law abiding citizen then without announcing he was a cop pulled his sidearm and pointed it at the family in the other car which prompted the citizen to shoot the cop!

It would seem that law enforcement is the ones the antis should be worried about. I haven't heard a single cop mention that incident when he's voicing his concern against this bill. The author or one of the supporters of this bill is currently a cop and he has stated this law will not put officers in harms way at all, at least from law abiding citizens!

If the governor vetoes this he is just delaying the inevitable, and is setting himself up to be a one timer. All due respect to law enforcement they should be worried about criminals not legally armed citizens. What scares me most in this country is when the police "read" (government) think they are the only citizens that should be allowed to carry and use deadly force in response to a brutal attack on another citizen.

And the politicians that we elect AGREE WITH THEM !

PS. call or e-mail your representatives and tell them to pass this bill!!

Yea, im pretty sure my e-mail address has been marked as "spam" or something,, Have sent MANY e-mails and not even gotten an auot-mated response from his office,,Too busy to answer to the people who elected him i guess,, Hope we didnt pay much for him to be moved-in as Governor as I fore-see him getting replaced next time around !
All we can do is keep at it, DONT give up !

I'm happy to have Hoffman and Murdock as my representatives! I've also emailed the gov'r, and likewise have been ignored. I didn't vote for him last time, and he's simply cementing that he won't get my vote again.

.

As a police officer I can tell you that a majority of the officers I know are pro-2nd Amendment, CCW and support this bill, it's only our chiefs that are against it.

Any news on this bill btw?

.

Interesting statement marine, that would imply that the executive-positions decisions are guided mostly by politics ,, who would have known ? :uhoh:
Thank you for your common-sense approach to the subject, can we elect you as OUR police-chief ? :)

And no-news on bill currently,Last word is Dayton's gonna veto-it,dont know if there's enough votes to over-ride him,, hoping they figure out budget deal before "shutdown"

Ha, thanks for the vote. But I'm not smart enough nor do I care to ever get into politics.

They were hoping to get it to the floor late yesterday, but that didn't happen. They're hoping for today.

If it's vetoed, that's pretty much it. The session is supposed to end Monday; it's kind of hard to attempt an override when nobody's around to vote. :(

I just got done emailing Gov Dayton and several others reminding them they serve the people and not the hysterical media or moronic police chiefs. The PEOPLE want this bill and if he stops serving us we find someone who will when election time rolls around again.

griff383: I've said basically the same thing, but I fear our words won't even make it to his ears on that media. I'm sure we'll be filtered out by whatever monkey skims his emails for him.

I didnt hear back from Dayton but I did get a real email from my state senator. According to him he has supported this bill from the get go.

Just keep sending it until you get a response. Copy, paste, send, once a day every day. If everyone here did that think what kind of an impact that could have. We have 131k members!

If you go to GOCRA-MN they have a list of senators that killed the bill so you can politely email them your thoughts and opinions.

UNBELIEVABLE !! What other job can you waste-time doing nothing, then when you have to work "overtime" to finish it you point fingers at your "co-workers" ,,,, They did however manage to get 28-million approved for my city for an expansion on a "civic center" (that was built WAY too small the first time) so we can expand our "arts" activities,,, Im so mad,i could spit tacks right now...

Just finished my personal emails to all the Senate leadership personnel listed on MN GOCRA expressing my distaste for their lack of diligence. Doubt it will fall on much beside deft ears however...
