CMP: 13 days!

My CMP field grade M1 Garand arrived today. I mailed the order on November 17. That's 13 days from the time the paperwork was mailed until FedEx delivered my rifle!

For $630 I received a Springfield Armory gun produced between July and August of 1942. Condition is MUCH nicer than I was expecting for a field grade gun.

If you've been on the fence about picking up a CMP Garand then my advice is to scrape together your pennies and send off your order asap. I will immediately be doing the same for a second rifle just in case they have some of the special grade 308 guns available again.

I sent in my order on Saturday. I just noticed that the CMP website was updated to say "expect 3 to 6 months for delivery". Word must have gotten out pretty fast!

I didn't know they were available either until I read a post on THR

That's a gorgeous-looking Field Grade rifle.

I've seen some pretty rough Field Grades before, but by and large, the CMP really undersells the condition of these rifles.
