I have noticed in the Brownell's catalog where there are AR trigger/hammer pins made with external straps that screw into the ends of both pins to keep them in place. Since these "straps" and screws are "exterior modifications", does anyone know if such a modification is CMP legal for service rifle? I have read the rules and tend to think they aren't.

AFAIK, you cannot use them. internal mods are the only ones allowed (except for a hooded rear sight now). now, if you go into the match gun category, you're ok, but i don't think you can use them on a service rifle.

cookhj is correct, the "no walk" pins are not legal in HP Service Rifle or SMP EIC matches. The better way to go is to get oversized pins so that they fit tightly in your lower and don't turn when your hammer and trigger move.
