Is there any difference between the two cmp stores? I'm going to be heading out to one in the next few weeks and was wondering if either had a better selection than the other. I'm hoping to get 1 garand and 1 carbine.

The stores are basically an equal distance from me. (the ohio one is 30 miles closer, but maybe if I went to the AL one I could head on down to florida for a night or two:D)

I was at the Ohio store today. Honestly it was slim pickings. I don't know much about the carbines and they did have a few in but none looked outstanding. The Garands they had were basically all field grade. I gauged a bunch looking for one that may have mediocre wood but a good barrel. The best I found was right at a 2 on the muzzle. Most were at least a 3 and some swallowed the gauge. I was there around 1pm though. I believe they restock the shelves at night for the next day. I wouldn't be surprised if a few shooters were in the mix but had been bought before I got there. When I stopped in before they closed in march I got there at 8am and was the first in the store. They had a couple in then that gauged below a 1 at the muzzle and around a 1.5 at the throat. I don't collect so I don't know much about the correctness of what they had, more just the wear and tear.
