i just read these laws and i think im gonna puke- has anybody had to go through this process where they bought a new gun and it didn't come with the spent shell? THE COBIS LAWS- what a croc

It's the price I pay for living in the Empire State. I've gone through it many times, but here's my choice: either don't buy the gun, or buy it and have my FFL bring it to the state police for firing. Besides, if I ever do get a hankering to rob my local bodega, I'll use my revolver and keep my spent casings, thank you.

Sure, it's ridiculous, and sure, everybody knows it's never netted a criminal even once. But life in NY is full of absurdities, and COBIS is but one.
