and you just shot a 10 round group, how long until your next shot is considered a cold bore shot. Im asking this because i need to figure out my cold bore shot for an upcoming match. BTW its a .22LR

Thank you

Cold bore is simply when the barrel is at the ambient temperature. There is no method to calculate when the barrel will be at ambient temps again for x number of shots fired at x degrees, you just have to wait. I think you are over thinking this.

+1

Hold it with your bare hand.

If it feels warmer then everything else, it is still warm.

With a .22 RF?
I wouldn't waste a whole lot of time pondering about it.

It really doesn't matter.
Or not nearly as much as the brand of ammo you are using that shoots real tight 10-shot groups in your rifle.

Cold bore vs clean bore? Cold bore vs warm bore? Cold bore vs HOT bore with mirage in the sights?

Need more info about what you are trying to accomplish?

Keep barrel warm between shots - keep it out in the sun, or cool faster in the shade, put it in air conditioned car? Have ice packs and cool blanket?

How heavy is the barrel? I can pretty much shoot a 22 all day at a moderate pace - 1 round every 3~5 minutes - ammo and wind mean far more than temp. Clean bore - some ammo will foul faster so you should have a cleaning routine.

cold bore vs warm bore. (dirty bore). At the match i am going to. there are no fouling shots, no warm ups ect, your first shot of the day is worth alot of points, and during stages you have to go out and change targets and ranges. so there is probably 10-15 min between stages. So i would like to figure out my cold bore shots. ect

probably 10-15 min between stages.

If there is a set time interval, or even an approximate one, between stages, as you seem to indicate, the option of waiting of waiting for a particular barrel temp before shooting again would seem to be absent. Cool down time is therefore moot.
