Cold Steel TiLite Grip Panels.

I am thinking about making grip panels for a Cold Steel TiLite. This is my EDC knife and is easily one of my favorites. What wood do you think would look nice on this knife that is commonly found in Va? (I wood like to cut the tree down and make them from scratch.)

Just a thought, you might want to use wood already cut and seasoned, if you put in on too green it might crack
