How many of you own or have had previous experience with this knife. The older, original versions that are made in USA from Carbon V steel are getting hard to find and very pricey. I own and use lots of knives, but the Trail Master is a beast for a production knife. I wish all knives I own were that well made.

i had one that was a factory second. I did not keep it as it failed to hold an edge. mine was the carbon V steel, but i felt it was improperly tempered and the edge rolled when used. i was real disapointed as i really like the heft and style of the knife.

This knife has done it all from breaking deer leg bones with the backside during skinning and butchering to cutting up hogs, chopping limbs, slicing meat and taters, u name it and it will do it. It's big, but it will do most things a smaller knife can do and can accomplish A LOT of tasks that a smaller knife could never do.

I own one and like it a lot. It's my favorite blade & grip shape for a Bowie and I really appreciate the Kraton grip. The knife is massive, sharp, and fast.

I think it's the nicest commonly available factory Bowie and is a knife that won't break your pocketbook.

I've carried this one on every downrange deployment since 2001. In Afghanistan, I kept it slipped inside of a Camelback carrier between the water bladder and my back. The end of the rubberized tang protruded out of the top of the carrier. I could just reach over my shoulder (with either hand) and come up with a foot or so of sharp. No one ever noticed it, alleviating the necessity to explain a big "killer" knife. I never noticed nor minded the extra weight on my kit. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but I only drug it out of its nest one time...to compare big blades with some Northern Alliance tribesmen. It was a hit. :)

It is the only Cold Steel knife that I have any interest in. Would like to own one just because...
