So this 19-year-old college football player takes a teammate with him to go sell some electronics to some guy in a bad part of town ... story ends with the football player shooting the buyer, who apparently attempted to rob them.

Not making snap judgements here ... but a couple questions: can you legally carry a loaded firearm in your vehicle in Louisiana without a concealed firearm license? Understanding that you cannot be issued CCW permit down there if you're under 21.
Other issues arise ... is it a positive thing that a 19-year-old college football player in a very high-profile program is going forth armed (hopefully, lawfully). Is the kid getting a pass in his college town because he's a football player?
Down there would 19-year-old high-school drop-out non-athlete Joe Sixpack who works at 7-11 get off as easily?
