I'd have to go with Natedog on this one. I wouldn't threaten all my years of college over a pocket knife. Not worth getting expelled over.

I would think carrying it in your pocket wouldn't be the problem, its what would happen to you if you had to use it. Of course, the alternative may be worth.

just carry a knife if you want to. as long as you're not doing anything stoopid with it, no one will say anything. i kept my Sig 228 in my room for a year and a half and only my really good friends knew, and i graduated without being caught.

Rules

Check your University rules and guidelines. I know at Purdue, in the dorms, we weren't aloud to have blades longer than 5" (darn, no Rambo knife). Longer than that was considered a weapon. I see lots of guys with folders clipped in the pockets though (accompanied by cowboy boots :D ). I would think a 'pocket' knife is ok. Just check the U's rules. I can run pretty fast and feel very safe on my campus, even alone at night ;)

who cares of a small folder clipped in your front pocket ?

its only a useful tool, not a weapon - think of your breakfast: how will you peel off your apple or whatever you are going to eat within breaks !? ;)

dont ask, DO !
