Collet die

Greetings,

I know...i know...stupid question. I used for a while a 30-06 collet die, but because the bass is so plentiful amd I have so many 30-06 rifles, it is easier to simply full size. It is why my experience with such dies is very limited.

Can I use a 30-06 die to collet size a 7.5 swiss case? Both are 308 bullet diameter.

It won't work unless you can cut about 20mm off the die.

Looks like about 6.5mm difference that would need to be cut off the bottom of the collet, not 20mm. The 7.5 Swiss case is slightly larger diameter below the shoulder and has a steeper angle on the shoulder, so the die may very well crush the case even if you can shorten it enough. Probably a no-go.

I guess my quick guess wasn't technically correct. I don't have one to measure but google says it is around 6mm.
