Colo Sen Comm kills CCW-no background ck, illegal alien bill.

Now this makes zero sense to me. Why should a person who
has passed the req's for a CCW be forced to go through a
background ck when purchasing a firearm ? More so,
why are illegal aliens allowed to get a CCW when
they've ALREADY broken our federal immigration
laws here in the U.S ?

Why would ANY sensible comm deny a bill that would rectify
these problems, especially the illegal alien- CCW part to
go ahead ? Am I mis-understanding this bill ?

I beg to differ (but just a little). The state, and Denver, is run by COMMUNISTS, (that's who).

Because, as many of us--including myself, I'm proud to say--have so often said, self defense is a human right. We, as individuals, don't have the authority to strip them of that right; consequently, we can't cede that authority to a government, as it's not ours to cede.

You make a good point, but there are different ways to protect
one's self. My point is when people knowingly break our laws
here in the U.S when it comes to illegal immigration, these
same people should not be allowed to obtain a CCW and
in fact should not be able to legally obtain a firearm. Which
I realize resorts to obtaining illegal arms such as stolen
arms.

I have no problem with the self defense issue. I DO have
a problem with people breaking our immigration laws, coming
here and taking advantage of the benefits, rights and laws
so many others have worked hard for, have even died for,
so we can enjoy or are at least made accessible to the
above rights, laws, etc. I feel no illegal immigrant
should have access to these same items, as those who
have taken the steps as so many others who've come
before & done, including my own people back in the
1800's, in becoming citizens. Going through these
steps in becoming a citizen, or if not a citizen a LEGAL
non-citizen, shows respect for our laws as well
as our Country. Though I do admit this blew up right
in our faces 9/11/01 as the murderers were here on expired
visas.

It's been a battle to get CCW laws set in place. In
fact out here in Corruptfornia one is doomed right
from the start in many areas just trying to get the
paperwork done and turned in and then shut down
by the local LEO.

Now with those who are serving in our Armed Forces and
are - where here illegally, I'm fine with that as it shows
that at least they were-are willing to defend this Nation,
and in such should be allowed to become citizens once
their stretch is done and an Honorable Discharge is
granted and along with this the rights and benefits that come
with becoming a citizen here in this Country.

I've gotten off topic again, but I feel illegals should NOT
be allowed CCW's or the right to obtain a firearm legally.

Illegal aliens are NOT allowed to get a CCW, and this bill would have done nothing to change that. The whole illegal alien angle is a red herring on this one. I can only assume that it was brought out because it is the current hot-topic. It is silly to make CCW holders undergo a state check when they already passed a more exhaustive check to get their permit. There are bigger fights that I think are more worth fighting, but its a noble effort nonetheless.
