Colorados new gun laws

As you may know, Colorado has recently passed a laundry list of stupid "common sense gun laws" that the proponents assured everyone were designed only to keep bad guys from having "easy access" to guns. Once again, unintended consequences rear their ugly head. Level headed District Attorneys have found it necessary to announce that they will not prosecute flood victims for turning temporary possession of their firearms over to friends for safe keeping in-spite of the laws that forbid even temporary transfer of possession without a background check.
Thank you to our ignorant, uncaring lawmakers and the Governor that signed those laws. We needed something else to worry about.

IIRC, the proponents of this legislation actually said that they knew these laws would not prevent "gun violence" or keep guns out of the wrong hands. They also said that these were only the 'first steps' to some undefined end.

Good to see that the refusal to enforce these laws exists at two levels; law enforcement and prosecution.

I don't think it has anything to do with the lawmakers willingness to help out or become pro gun or anything like that. It has everything to do with the fact that this was pretty much an unenforceable law to begin with, especially in the situation of something like this flood. Think about it. How could they possibly charge all of these people with a crime? They don't have any clue as to who owned what, handed over what etc. In other words, they have no real measure of determining who did or did not break the law during this time IMO. Unless, I am missing something here. So, even if they wanted to prosecute they can't if they don't know who all was involved.
