I’ve been shooting a US Armament reproduction Colt 1903 with an AAC Tirant 9mm suppressor for a couple weeks now and the gun locks open when you manually chamber the first round.
I think what is happening is the extra weight of the suppressor is causing the top edge of the barrel to get caught in the slide cutout where the locking lugs rotate into when the gun is disassembled.
Has anyone else had this problem? Once the first round is chambered it doesn’t happen again. I think it can be fixed by just lightly filing or stoning the barrel hood.
Thanks,
Dan
