Jam

The nork is great, the micro is fussy.I did make it thru a few mags yesterday w/out a problem.Friday at Ted's it had the other spring in it,both fri/sat it would have the same type of jam regardless of spring-the empty case would be stuck at the top of the slide smashed and the next round would not feed.,after pulling the slide back and turning it upside down so the empty would fall out it would not go into battery. This was w/pmc.I had some georgia arms lrn reloads that didn't do it as much. They seemed a little shorter. Joe

Well...DAYUMM! The gun was still a little grip-sensitive, but ran fine with a decent amount of grunt applied with both hands. The extractor is good...The problem is due to short-cycle. Dang barrel is just too short to provide enough backward oomph to smack the brass clear of the port, I guess.

Bring it back next trip...I'll check it out and we'll try some...how do I put this...fairly "oomphy" handloads to see what difference it makes.

Haven't been to see Ted yet because no sane person is awake when I hit the range. Usually there waitin' for the sun to come up far enough so I can see to shoot.

Nope,
The bearded fat guy in a red suit has not seen me in years. I recall yelling "turn down that racket", and asking if Reindeer tasted like the venison locally...

Every once in a while a stash of neat guns like the Norincos "appear" just a matter of being at the right place at the right time is all.

Always surprised me how robust the metallurgy was on them things...

Joe Don't be Modest

Tell em about shooting the lid off a coke bottle at 20 yards...with da NORK!:D

Put that boy in the Olympics.

nope, didn't break it,it was plastic...couldn't do it again in 100 yrs,but it sure looks good when ya call it-kinda like those pool shots.;)guess I coulda scared it off..

To back up a bit, when installing grip screws, make sure the screw heads bottom on the bushing, not on the wood. They are intended to stop on the bushing with just enough pressure on the wood to keep it in place, not dig into the wood. If the grips are made so the screw heads stop on the wood (or other grip material), they will work loose very quickly.

DANG!

I felt real bad tho, embarassing him in front of Kartracer, when my inexpensive S&W 15 outshot his Colt Cobra. We'll have to do a "shootoff" soon before it gets too cold outside.

Oh yeah...Did Ulflyer mention that he kept goin' up to his shed to get a drink, or pee, or whatever and never saw the tight groups I was getting with the KC? Dang!!! Sure his Smith shot great...he's had it for about 125 years...with that many years to shoot it! This was the first time I shot the KC!!! Yeah, we need a rematch! Besides, he shoots those mamby pamby loads and all I had was some factory whammo. Wah wah wah... ;)

And yeah, we certainly need to get togethere with the other locals next time. Definitely!

Frandy, who loves his new Snake, no matter what Ulflyer claims!

Screws

Yep Jim. I've had to use a counterbore to make the screw bottom against the
faces of the bushings with a little light grab on the wood. Specs people...Specs!

Now..About that demon-possessed Micro of kartracer's. Bring it back, Joe. it's done gone and got personal. I gotta retire undefeated, and if I gotta start a grudge match with that little bugger, tell it: Ah'm yuh Huckleberry!:fire:

Yeah...Right about now, John Moses is sittin' up there, takin' all this in, laughin' and thinkin:

Three inches??? You GOTTA be kiddin' me!!!

Careful now Frandy

Or I might post some pics of those targets before you FINALLY got one good group. And I won't mention you were shooting at 7 yards!

The screws I ordered from Midway arrived today. They were made by Cylinder & Slide, Fremont, NE. As you said they fit the old bushings perfectly. One downer, the lower left original screw was frozen in the bushing. Took two or three applications of lighter fluid to break it loose. For the record this is a Colt. The Norinco may be a different story. thanks for the advice.
