colt 45 auto mfg date

I am looking for some information on the date of mfg for a colt 45 pistol.
It states it is a model C on the side plate. If I remember correctly the serial number is 23337. The pistol has three patented dates on the side 1906, 1908 and 1911

It would appear the gun I looked at was mfg in 1913

Just be advised that 1911 pistols were rebuilt, rebuilt and rebuilt again.
The date of the frame may not be an accurate indicator of how old the component parts may really be.

Pistol age

I have been given reason to believe the pistol was a private purchase from Colt in 1913. This pistol is not and will never be for sale. What I am looking for is a good reference work on the early colt 45s. I now own a current edition springfield. As a shooter it is much better than the old colt. I would sell it with out a moments heasitation as I could pick up anouther one just like it tomorrow.
