So this is what I'm after.... Have a limited supply of powder and boolits for this project.
The boolits I will be using are 185gr hard cast lubed semi wad cutters. Winchester large pistol primers and 500 mix headstamp cases. I have about 2lb of herco that I would like to use. And a half lb of bullseye I would like to use for another project but if I need to bullseye will get used.
I want to stay 750 to 850fps kinda my comfort zone.
I was unable to find any published data. Any suggestions???
Or should I just run with the bullseye??
Thanx

Herco would be a very poor choice in .45 Colt with that light a bullet and reduced loads.

Bullseye would work better.
Maybe try 5.5 grains as a starting load?

Not A Published Load = Use at your own Risk.

I know nothing about 185 grain bullets in .45 Colt though.
Or Bullseye powder in it.

That's not what it does best.

I use 230 grain RN and 250 grain RNFP .452 bullets in mine. Also I use either trail boss or promo (Red Dot by weight). If you could find either of these propellants there is some data for them. I looked in my older manuals and found nothing for Herco or for that bullet weight for 45 Colt. The lyman cast bullet handbook I have from 1973 lists 175 and 235 grain lead bullets using Red Dot, Unique, 700-X, and PB. Sorry I can't be more help.
