Ummm wow. You are a bit misinformed my friend.
Bushmasters are notorious for tight chambers in their 5.56 guns. In additional they cut a lot of corners in production. While it can be argued that they are adequate for a casual shooter they are in no way better than a Colt, BCM, DD, or any other top tier company.

I think that the quality of Colt over the other brands, ESPECIALLY in the hands of most users is exaggerated if significant at all, I think the vast majority of shooters can get a bushmaster and never have a problem, but I won't try to say that a Colt is INFERIOR to them.

Colt is the standard, may not be the very best you can buy. It well keep it's resale netter and is a better made rifle than the BM. Nothing wrong with BM either, I have two and no problems with them other than buying ammo.

Colt is the standard because it is built to milspec and issued to the military. Others are imitations of that. Some great, as good or better (arguably-and you'll pay more), others not as good but look the same.

With Colt 6920s to be had for around 1K with careful shopping, I see no reason to go with anything else (except maybe a DD XV for 1K with $250 gift card to put an Omega rail on it!) Or...a BCM mid length for the mid-gas system.
